He has chosen “eaten fish” as his pen name. Ali Doran is one of many Iranian refugees in Australia’s offshore  refugee detention centers resembling concentration camps.

Back in August of this year, cartoonist rights Network International released the following statement:

Eaten Fish is a cartoonist and a refugee from Iran who sought refuge in Australia.  This landed him in one of Australia’s notorious detention centers.  He’s languished there for more than three years during which he’s suffered all manner of abuse.  He’s in bad shape and needs medical attention.”

Yesterday in North Carolina, during the 2016 annual convention of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, Ali was Awarded the 2016 Courage in Editorial Cartooning award. Lst year, another Iranian cartoonist, Atena Faraghdani, at that time in the captivity of the Islamist fascists, won the same award.

Time will come when unreformable Islamist fascists –“reformers” and all- are no longer in power, a tyrannical, apartheid system which has caused multitude of Iranians to flee their beloved homeland.

Those who stand with the Iranian people at their darkest hour are righteous.

Martin Luther:

“We do not become righteous by doing righteous deed but, having been made righteous, we do righteous deeds”

Sanction works, U.S. Senate, get to it.

Ps. UN Secretary General labeled Australia’s refugee detention camps, as “hell.”
