If you examine how events in fetal life influence adult behavior, you are also automatically considering things like lifelong changes in patterns of hormone secretion or in gene regulation. If you discuss the effects of mothering style on a kid’s eventual adult behavior, by definition you are also automatically discussing the nature of the culture that the mother passes on through her actions. Those who [think] the Islamic Republic is a beacon of heroically defiant resistance to Western imperialism not only ignore its own foreign policy, but ignore the plight of Indigenous communities in Iran, offering a shallow apology for rampant oppression. The transparent poverty of this anti-imperialist argument will also likely undermine wider attention to genuine concerns over the continued compromising of nations’ sovereignty in ways that are appropriately described as ‘imperialist’.

Hmm. Miller was a man who always married women who were many years younger. He then divorced his wives when they got too old. And then married new younger women to replace the old ones. He did this until age 90.
So this quote isn't profound, as much as it is (good) advice for men.
Sounds like he was an Akhoond!
Holy Sh...Now i get it..
But he wasn't even 50 when he wrote that. Do we know how he felt later on in his life?
