Welcoming the Night
Last light
goes out to welcome the night
Smell of jasmine dances in the breeze
Sunset’s melody scratches my whole being
A pleasant air, like wellbeing,
goes out to welcome the night
Nonbelievers pass through the bridge
In anticipation of tomorrow’s turbulence, night quiets down
Fate, a traveler without a destiny,
astray and without words,
goes out to welcome the night
This story has been read many times,
yesterday, today, and tomorrow
Each word of it, a strange game,
rerun of ignorance and denial,
goes out to welcome the night
Seeing you tames love to my heart
Your lips’ words is denied by your eyes
Virtuous heart, naked again,
for love,
for you, for dream of companionship,
broken in your hands,
goes out to welcome the night
Translation of a poem by Orang Gholikhani

Thank you, MPD, for the translation! My favorite is the last paragraph! I hope the poet can see your translatio also. The blog image is awesome!
Apparently this website needs some tweaking! I can't access the English section of the website from work, only the Farsi section!
