A Night in Calistoga

In Calistoga young couples
Walk from one cafe to another
And middle-aged women and men
Carry themselves from mud tubs
Into showers.
Only you and I
Oblivious to all
Pass through seven bubbling seas.

You are riding on my back
Clinging my face to yours.
I am on the tips of my toes
Touching the bottom of the seas.

Let your small breasts
press against my back
a little longer.
Let your well-sculpted thighs
Remain in my arms
A little longer.
We have been waiting for this moment
for years.
Tonight the water of seven seas
Bubbles into one small mineral pool.

From a near-by grill
We can smell the scent of
Barbecued mushrooms and peppers.
Let the red wine in the uncorked bottle
blend a little longer with the air.

Tonight after the voyage,
Our journey into seven starry skies
Will begin.

شبی در کالیستوگا

در کالیستوگا* جفتهای جوان
از کافه ای به کافه ی دیگر می روند
و زنان و مردانِ میانسال
خود را از وانهای پُرگِل
به زیر دوش می کشانند.
تنها من و تو بی اعتنا به این همه
از هفت دریای جوشان می گذریم.

تو بر گُرده ی من سوار شده ای
و گونه ات را به گونه ام چسبانده ای.
من بر سرپنجه ها رفته ام
تا کفِ دریاها را لمس کنم.

بگذار پستانهای کوچکت
کمی بیشتر بر پشتم بفشارند.
بگذار رانهای خوشتراشت
کمی بیشتر در دستهای من بمانند.
ما سالهاست
که منتظر این لحظه مانده ایم.
امشب آبِ هفت دریا
در استخری کوچک می جوشد.

از اجاقِ مجاور
بوی قارچ و فلفلِ کبابی
شنیده می شود.
بگذار شراب سرخ
در شیشه ی درباز
کمی بیشتر با هوا درآمیزد.

امشب پس از سفر دریایی
گردش ما در هفت آسمانِ پُرستاره
آغاز می شود.
