It does not make sense, 4.4 million dollars to compensate for 444 days of being held hostage 36 years ago.

I think the compensatory and punitive amount should have added up to much more.  However, that is not my main beef with this deal.

It does not make sense to monetarily compensate the hostages for the horrible ordeal they’ve suffered, and at the same time make lovey-dovey with the very people who took them as hostages and threatened to personally execute them.
